Fall Break Stories

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

Our students, staff, and their families were busy having fun during their fall break. Here are some of their stories!

CM and his family took advantage of lovely fall weather and colors for a short getaway to Snow Mountain Ranch. CM’s favorite parts were hiking, leather stamping and swimming.

One of our staff members, Forest, had the best of both worlds. He spent 3 days visiting family in Paonia, Colorado and Carbondale, Colorado. The Western Slope is so beautiful this time of year, it was a must! It was a relaxing break in Boulder. FW is looking forward to the fall season, and cooler weather.

BW was able to spend some time at her two favorite places. The Denver Zoo and the Denver Aquarium!

Zoo and aquarium fun!

The Grimes Family did a lot of camping all over Colorado and Nebraska. They also went to the beach in Florida and floated around in the Gulf of Mexico!

LS spent his fall break doing his favorite activities- climbing peaks and seeing the changing leaves as an early birthday climb. He climbed 14ers Mt. Shavano, Tabeguache Peak, and Huron Peak, along with four 13ers over 3 days in the Leadville/Buena Vista area. What an amazing way to spend the 1st three days of the fall season!!

CC's first stop was Steamboat Springs, CO, where they relaxed at the Steamboat Lake and Pearl Lake. Also visited the Yampa botanical gardens.

CC also explored the maroon bells in Aspen. It was a wonderful drive through the Independence Pass to Aspen. The colors had started to peak. The summit at maroon bells with the lake is a photographer's delight.

CC also drove across the town fully surrounded by yellow trees. Beaver Lake was breathtaking below the mountains.

Ss and his family spent his fall break in Venice, Florida, where he spent a lot of time at the beach looking for shells and shark's teeth. A live starfish washed on shore and Ss helped it back into the water. One of his favorite days was touring the Selby Botanical Gardens, where he took pictures of various orchids and tropical plants.
