TJS welcomed school-age and transition students back to school this year on August 12. Students at both the Boulder and Englewood campuses attended TJS on in-person and hybrid schedules this fall until mid-November, when both campuses shifted back to remote learning due to rising COVID cases. Students are divided into cohorts and each cohort attends school in-person two days per week and does remote learning three days per week. TJS’s JECC students returned to full-time in-person learning earlier in the summer.
During the summer, TJS stocked up on personal protective equipment for staff and students, and implemented more robust cleaning procedures on all campuses. We started daily health screening processes for students and staff, and we re-configured classroom and common spaces to align with social distancing requirements.
TJS students thrive on routine and the relationships they have developed with their teachers and therapists. We are thrilled to have spent the past 3 months working with students in-person and hope to get back to it as soon as possible.
